NBA 2K12 received positive reviews from critics upon release, with praise directed at the visuals, wealth of content, controls, and overall gameplay. A contest was held before the game's release, the winners of which would collaborate on an original song to be featured in the game. The game features a licensed soundtrack consisting of 28 songs. In September 2011, prior to the game's release, a demo was released for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. A mode focusing on past NBA players is introduced, and several online modes are present. A mode called Association is also present, in which the player assumes control of an NBA organization, and simulates through seasons. MyPlayer mode is one of the modes in it, players create their own player and play through their career in the NBA. Players mainly play NBA basketball games in a variety of game modes with real and customizable players and teams. NBA 2K12, like the other games in the series, strives to emulate the experience of the National Basketball Association. This was the last installment in the series to be released for the PlayStation 2. For the first time in the series, three different covers are available the three cover athletes are Michael Jordan (who was also the cover athlete for the previous game) for the Chicago Bulls, Magic Johnson of the Los Angeles Lakers, and Larry Bird of the Boston Celtics. As the thirteenth installment in the NBA 2K series, it is the successor to NBA 2K11 and the predecessor to NBA 2K13. It was released in October 2011 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Wii, Xbox 360, and, for the first time, iOS. I got my guy to be MVP his rookie year using these basic things and a few other things that come when you get a better feel of the game.NBA 2K12 is a 2011 basketball simulation video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K. That's all you really need when your guy's first starting tbh lol. Give enough space to bait a pass to your guy but be close enough so that when you react with a steal attempt, you'll get it. Know the passing lane (path from where the ball is to your guy). when your guy is working off-ball on D, leave a little space between you and your defender. Go for it when the ball is in the guy's hand (it has already bounced up off the floor) 3. going for on-ball steals when your guys is just standing there dribbling the ball. following the would-be ball handler (usually the PG) on the inbounds pass and going for the steal right as they pass it in (cheap, yes I know). Once it's about 75, it'll be effective enough but try to get it to 90. You'll draw alot of fouls using the hop step too.Īlso, get your steal rating up. Depending on how the D reacts, you can even let go of the shot stick mid-hop step and your guy will do a fake layup (which will get guys jumping) then you can go up when it's clear. Get your layup rating up and make this your primary move if you're driving to the basket and the lane is clogged. Use it (L2+right stick to either side of the basket). If anyone has a remedy for this, I would really appreciate it if I could get some advice. They all have the same problems as the point guard. So I made three other players at shooting guard, small forward and power forward. If he does get to the rim he usually gets blocked automatically, even if I use the pump fake strategy, or misses even though I have high close, inside, and layup stats. No matter what method of getting inside I use, I almost always lose the ball, but my ball security is almost 99 and it has had almost no effect and from what I gather that should help me (please correct me if I'm wrong). My first player, a 6'3" point guard, always has trouble getting to the rim. I made four different players just to see how things are and they all have the same problem. So I'm having trouble just scoring in general. Let me start off by saying that this is my first NBA 2K game and I don't know much about basketball so if I say something stupid, please don't ream me on it.
